Adventure of Generosity Teaching Series

The Adventure of Generosity is a five-week teaching series beginning Sunday, September 9 in each of New Hope Church’s Adult Sunday Communities. The goal of the series is to help us see and savor the temporal and eternal benefits of a lifestyle that is generous toward God and his kingdom.

Weekly Topics

Week 1
What does Scripture say about “storing up treasures in heaven” and how do I do that? What are the benefits today of being so heavenly-minded?

Week 2
How does the world and the devil scheme to make me want to give grudgingly rather than generously and how do I break through those obstacles?

Week 3
Why does stewardship always seem like a duty and an obligation? Shouldn’t it be more joyful?

Week 4
How does God measure generosity and why does he measure it? What’s really important here? How can I tell if I’m headed where God wants me to be?

Week 5
Are stewardship and generosity about the money or is there something more important at stake here? How do I celebrate the ways God has been generous toward me?

Join the Class

This teaching series is based in part on Chip Ingram’s book “The Genius of Generosity,” which is available for $5 at New Hope Church. In addition to discussing key ideas from the book, we will draw on material from Randy Alcorn, Genius BookWes Willmer and other authors. And, of course, lots and lots of Scripture. There is also a Kindle version.

If you are not a regular attender at one of NHC’s Adult Sunday Communities, this is a great opportunity to check one out. There are numerous communities (representing every stage of life) that meet at either 9:30 or 11:00 a.m. every Sunday morning. You’re welcome to come see what they are about, and bring a friend. No registration is required and there is no cost to attend the class. More information about the ASCs is available in the Information Centers and the Welcome Center and online.
