Imagine

Rich in Generosity is an on-going ministry campaign designed to equip and enable the people of New Hope church to “Live Sent.” We believe the Lord is leading us to remove a significant barrier to reaching our community for Christ through a special giving project. This will open up new possibilities for ministry, service and outreach. Just imagine the possibilities!

The Story

What started as simply the need for a new HVAC system developed into a bigger, much more exciting adventure sparked by God. Right out of the box, the elder and senior staff leadership team saw the Lord unpack a vision to equip and unleash the NHC family for ministry like never before. After fervent prayer and exploration, and enthusiasm from committee members, “Rich in Generosity” was born. Just as parents with a newborn, we are dreaming about its future. And, like parents, we can’t foresee all the details God intends for these dreams. Yet we trust him to unfold exactly what we need to know each step of the way.

Gospel Transformation

The specifics of the dream continue to unfold, but at the center is NHC becoming a force for gospel transformation in the western Twin Cities. We see him leading us as a missional hub in this area. Picture a community that, out of abundant life, joyfully introduces people to Christ, effectively trains them and sends them out as everyday apostles. This community would be strategically equipped and geared to live on mission with God.

The Packet

Information packets are available at the reception desk and the Rich in Generosity "wall." These packets include an "Intent to Give" card. Please pray about and fill out this card. Return it to the reception desk or in the Sunday offering. The packet also includes a brochure that provides a colorful look at our past, present and future here at New Hope Church. You may want to take some time to pray through the dreams and vision presented there. And ask God about his dreams for your future. What does he have for us as a church family? View the brochure>>

What's Ahead?

Start imagining how God could possibly use you in his kingdom in the years to come. And then consider what he might want to do to begin to realize those dreams. That’s the kind of inspiration that’s fueling Rich in Generosity. What if our $3.9 million facilities mortgage debt could be eliminated and the existing monthly payments be used for direct ministry to people? Envision how an additional $500,000 a year would expand ministry opportunities. The key is unprecedented generosity and financial freedom that flings the ministry doors wide open.

Stories can bring glory to God and they can offer powerful encouragement to others. If you're aware of a story of how Godhas brought transformation through generosity within our church family, or if you've experienced the generosity of others, we'd love to hear about it. Contact Lisa Severson.

Class
The Adventure of Generosity was a five-week teaching series that took place in the fall of 2012 in each of New Hope Church’s Adult Sunday Communities. The goal of the series was to help us see and savor the temporal and eternal benefits of a lifestyle that is generous toward God and his kingdom. Due to the wonderful way we saw God use this series, we expect to offer it again in some form in the future. Learn more>>

The Wall

the wall

We’re excited about dedicating an entire wall at the Main Campus to what God is doing and will do through Rich in Generosity. Take a walk past Sandberg Chapel and check it out!

Originally taken back in October 1958, the large-scale photo mural that creates the foundation of the Rich in Generosity wall is a symbol of the love, persistence, prayer and commitment of literally thousands of people who have been a part of this church family since those humble beginnings back in 1946. It is a photo of most of the early CEFC family taken in front of the church when it was located in Crystal, Minnesota. Many of these individuals have passed on to spend eternity with Christ. Some of the children in the photo yet remain in this church family. They are rich with stories of all God has done in our midst over the years. Each story, from the beginning and continuing through today, is a gift and a memorial to God’s transforming grace and power.

It started with a photo mural, but layered above that you see stories, history and art unfold. Take the opportunity to interact with elements of the wall. Watch for evidence of God’s work in and through this church family represented on the wall. Answer the latest question on the chalkboard. And be sure to share stories of God’s power of generosity that has been displayed in your own life.

The Party

With all that God is doing in the NHC family, it’s time we threw a party! What a sweet time it was together to celebrate God's rich generosity toward us on Sunday, November 18, 2012.“...overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:12). Learn more>>
