Here to Glorify God by Multiplying Healthy Churches

The Evangelical Free Church of America is more than a denomination; it is an association of autonomous local churches which voluntarily belong to a spiritual movement we believe is being orchestrated by the Holy Spirit.

Being a part of this movement, we share a common commitment to follow Jesus Christ as the Lord of our lives, our ministries, our families and our churches. He is the head of the Church which is his body.

We do not desire to build merely a large human organization, but instead to be involved in building the eternal Kingdom of God. We enjoy teaming and fellowshiping with Christian brothers and sisters of many backgrounds, cultures and nationalities who embrace the lordship of Jesus Christ, the authority of the Scripture, the compassion to reach out with the love of Jesus Christ to poor, hurting and lost people, the concern to evangelize and make disciples of Jesus Christ, the desire for holy living, and the commitment to be set free by Christ day-by-day.

The Evangelical Free Church of America is growing to include a beautiful mosaic of every generation and region of the United States, representing an increasing variety of ethnic, racial and cultural people. Our churches comprise a graphic example of the biblical principle of diversity with spiritual unity.

The term "evangelical" refers to our commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel and to the authority of Scripture as being inerrant in the original autographs and the only safe and sufficient guide to faith and peace. The term "free" refers to our form of church government which assures that our local churches are free from a central controlling body. Evangelical Free Churches depend upon the active participation of pastors and lay people in the decisions and direction of the local church.
