Marriage Preparation
Why Marriage Prep?
Invitations, flowers, dresses, cake, music - the list seems endless as you prepare for your wedding. Yet, consider how much, or little, planning goes into the marriage itself? We care about your marriage and future. Our goal is to give you some of the tools needed to maneuver the “for better and for worse” areas of marriage in a God-honoring way.

Come enhance your conflict resolution and communication skills through a nationally-recognized program, meet with married couples in a group setting and get to know your partner in a deeper way. This class also meets the requirements for a $40 reduction in the cost of your Minnesota marriage license!*

If you are engaged or are considering engagement, register for one of the upcoming Marriage Preparation Classes. Note that these classes are a pre-requisite for anyone planning to be married at New Hope Chruch. Class size is limited. Marriage Preparation Blitz
If the dates of the Marriage Preparation Classes don't work with your schedule you can apply to do a blitz. A blitz is an individualized version of the class. Each couple meets with an instructor at a time that works for each of them. Covering the same topics and content, the blitz takes a minimum of 12 hours to complete.

The cost for the Blitz is $450 per couple. Blitz Application (pdf)

Minnesota Marriage License Fee Reduction
Not only does New Hope Church believe that marriage preparation is a necessary step in preserving marriage, but so does the state legislature. The state of Minnesota provides a $40 deduction in the cost of a marriage license for couples that have taken a marriage preparation inventory and at least 12 hours of instruction (including the topics of communication and conflict resolution). New Hope Church's Marriage Preparation Class meets and surpasses the state's requirements, making it doubly beneficial! In addition to great teaching and fellowship with other couples, you receive a deduction in the cost of a license. The appropriate paperwork to verify class completion is given to you at the conclusion of the class.
