The Important Step of Marriage
Your wedding is an exciting and joyful event, and one of the most significant
and serious commitments of your life. Marriage involves a commitment of yourself
and your future to another individual who is making that same promise to
you. Yet, with so many details to consider and decisions to make, it is easy
to lose sight of the joy and commitment. New Hope Church wants to help make
your wedding a beautiful and meaningful experience. (Please note that use of the NHC facilities for weddings is available for NHC members and regular attenders.)
Beyond the Wedding Day
It is important to remember that getting married is, first of all, a spiritual
matter. It is one of the most significant ceremonies which can occur as a
part of a person’s church involvement. Christian marriage is clearly
taught in many places in the Bible, particularly in Genesis
2:18-25, Matthew
19:1-9 and Ephesians
5:18-31.
In light of that teaching, we recognize our responsibility to help prepare
you for your wedding and your marriage. We offer a wedding guide that is intended
to answer some of your initial questions and to explain how to get started
in the process. The following steps have been developed to make your wedding
a great experience and your marriage a life-long joy.

While you are understandably involved in many wedding details that place heavy
demands on your time and energy, be careful that these are not allowed to
divert you from placing God at the center of your wedding plans.

How We Can Help
The New Hope Church family desires to do more than just help couples prepare
for their wedding day. We seek to prepare them for a solid marriage that will
be satisfying, fulfilling and lasting.
1. Facility Scheduling
Our NHC Wedding Administrator is your first contact with the church as you
plan your wedding. You'll have an opportunity to ask questions concerning
New Hope Church’s availability. This contact will also provide the
appropriate planning information and an explaination of our wedding process.
The Wedding Administrator will guide you through the many decisions concerning
the facility arrangement for your ceremony and direct you to the following

2. Marriage Preparation
Marriage Preparation Classes provide
practical teaching and counseling for couples. While this is a requirement
for those being married at New Hope Church, the classes are also open to
those who may not yet be engaged or do not attend New Hope Church. Marriage
Preparation Classes are offered several times a year and there is a cost.

4. Your Wedding Pastor
A pastor meets with you following the completion of your Marriage Preparation
Classes. He will become acquainted with you as a couple, review New Hope
Church’s wedding guidelines and help you plan your wedding ceremony.
This pastor conducts your wedding service unless you request other arrangements.

Special Music
The NHC Worship Music & Celebration Arts department can assist
with special music needs. They will be able to offer suggestions for music
selection and possible musicians for your ceremony. They can also confer with
guest organists and pianists you may provide. Contact NHC Worship Music & Celebration

6. Wedding Reception
If you choose, our Food Service Director and experienced staff can assist
you in planning your reception from start to finish. Every attention to detail
will be carefully considered to make your reception memorable. We offer a
wide variety of menu choices table decorations and room arrangements to
suit any budget. Contact the Food

set up an appointment.
7. Wedding Coordinator
We have a staff of wedding coordinators available to help coordinate the many
details of the your ceremony. The NHC Wedding Administrator assigns
a wedding coordinator to you to conduct the rehearsal and make sure that
everything runs smoothly on your wedding day! We want to ensure that everything
is done to make your wedding day as joyful as possible! Contact the NHC
