Fall 2008"Why We Believe the Bible: The Rationality of Trusting the Scriptures" Why do we believe what the Bible says? What sets it apart from any other holy book? Is it enough just to say, "Well, this is the book they gave me when I got baptized, so this is one I read?" We don't think so. If we are going to stake our lives on this book, then we should be making sure that our confidence in its trustworthiness is rock solid. To that end, for the next five weeks we will be putting the Bible on trial and asking it to show us why it should be believed, in hopes that the Bible wouldn't just be the book we "happen to read" because we're Christians, but that we would come to view it as the only reliable guide to life, joy and human flourishing. 11/10: Why Are We Concerned With the Bible? 11/17: Which Books Make Up the Bible and Why?
