New Hope Church is a place that cares about the needs of people. We want to express that in tangible ways with the love and care of Christ. The following are just a few of the practical ways the NHC family hopes to extend God's compassion:

Congregational Care

Experience the encouragement of community during life changes and challenges. Congregational Care supports our church community by offering:

  • Home, hospital and nursing home visits to those in the NHC family of all ages who are ill, and to the elderly who are confined to their homes or long-term care facilities due to health reasons. Visitations are made by visitation pastor, Congregational Care nurse and/or visitation volunteers.

  • Spiritual support and education for health problems.

  • Funeral support including funeral services, food receptions and funeral home liaisons when the loss of a loved one is experienced. Learn more>>

  • Referrals to community and church-based resources.

  • Monthly blood pressure screenings between Worship Celebrations and during seniors' luncheons.

  • Warm meal ministry with meal delivery during a short-term need of those in the NHC family who have been hospitalized or are seriously ill and have limited family/friends available to help.

  • Prayer Chain for confidential prayer support for NHC attenders and their immediate family/friends (call 763-533-2449)

If you know of a NHC attender who is ill, hospitalized or in need of a personal visit, would like more information or want to volunteer for any of the above ministries, contact the Congregational Care Nurse at 763-536-3233.

Please note: Congregational Care is not a substitute for pastoral care, medical care, community health nursing, hospice or social agencies. This ministry does not provide physical care, administer medications, draw blood, give injections or do any invasive procedures. We do not charge or accept a fee.

Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC)

Love In the Name of Christ is a national movement headquartered in Minneapolis with many Affiliates (networks of churches) across the United States. Love INC works by networking the Church to serve those who are poor materially and in spirit. The ultimate purpose, however, is to enfold them into healthy Christian community in one of our churches as believers in Jesus Christ. Our local Affiliate (of which NHC is a part) serves Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, Robbinsdale and surrounding communities. Call our affiliate Clearinghouse at 763-561-1410 or visit their website for more information. To find our more about the national Love INC movement, visit the Love INC national website.

Transportation Ministry

Has transportation become taxing, time consuming and/or unavailable for you right now? Is the lack of transportation to church and essential appointments deteriorating your independence, quality of life and social interaction? Is it causing isolation and hindering your ability to give and receive ministry? Transportation Ministry can help. Learn more>>
