Jeff and Peggy McCourt

Family: Wife of 25 years, Peggy; daughter and son-in-law Aaron and Alisa; Kara, Jackie and Preston. Grandchild #1 due in January 2010!

Education: Bachelor’s degree in music from Northwestern College, Roseville, MN.

Equipped for Service: By God’s grace, he has placed a passion in me for seeing and hearing the people of God seek the face of God in corporate worship. He’s also given me a love for his Word and a heart for the church of Jesus Christ.

Prepared for Service: People who have made an impact on me include my college teacher and mentor, Dick Edstrom and the leadership and wisdom of Pastor Steve Goold. A “Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire” conference with Jim and Carol Cymbala made a significant impact on me. Also, growing up in a family where love for Jesus was expressed in a faithful connection with a local church.mccourts family

Appreciation for NHC: Some of the things I appreciate at this church include the godly, discerning, wise leaders; a congregation that’s eager to express the worthiness of Jesus through music and celebration; and a healthy perspective on “church fads” that keeps us anchored. At the same time, I’m grateful for the hearty embracing of a new and big vision for the future.

Free Time: In my free time, I enjoy dating Peggy, home improvement projects, reading with Peggy, biking, running, Starbucks with Peggy, Orchestra Hall, yard work/ gardening. And, did I mention - spending time with Peggy?

Scripture: My life verse is Galatians 6:9:  “And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”

Websites and blogs: Are you kidding? I’m over 45, which means I get all  my information from something I can hold in my hands that has a cover and white paper with black letters (we called them “books” back in the day). I’m not necessarily proud of this. As of yet, I just haven’t been turned on to “iWisdom.”
