Goold FamilyFamily: Wife, Pam; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Chris Shedd; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kristyn; and grandchildren, Isaac, Elyzabeth, Susan, Jolie, Brynn, Leah and Kayley. grandkids

Education background: B.M.E. from Drake University; M. Div. from Talbot Theological Seminary; Th. M from Biola University; and D. Min. from Trinity International University.

Equipped for Service: I am a redeemed sinner that has been saved by the grace of God from a life of destruction unto a life of bringing honor and glory to God. He has chosen to gift me as a pastor/teacher and called me to love, teach, encourage and lead his people gathered here at New Hope Church.

Prepared for Service: I came to believe in Jesus as an adult. So my life before Christ helps me understand and identify with those who do not yet have faith in Christ. I am naturally weak in my own capacity so this helps me understand those who struggle with living as they know God desires. I have pastored for over 30 years and this gives me perspective on just about anything that can arise within the church and within the lives of individuals.

Appreciation for NHC: What I see here at New Hope is a love for Jesus, a love for people, a love for the city and a love for the whole world. New Hope Church is a place where folks can come to know Christ and a place where they can grow in Christ. It is a warm, welcoming and healthy community that increasingly reflects the wonderful racial and ethnic diversity of the whole Body of Christ. Together we are in process of growth and maturity that points well to Jesus. pam

Free Time: I very much enjoy being with my family, golf, most all sports, reading and working on my lawn.

Scripture: “I thank steveChrist Jesus our Lord who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service for him even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. And yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was more than abundant with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am the worst of all” (1 Timothy 1:12-15).

Recommended Resources: Anything by James Boice, Chuck Swindoll, John Piper, Jerry Bridges, Erwin Lutzer or A.W. Tozer. The song “Blessed Be the Name of the Lord.” The hymn “Wonderful Grace of Jesus.”
