A student's junior high years are pinnacle to establishing a good foundation for a life of following Christ. You can be a part of building that foundation in the lives of students at New Hope Church! Answering the questions below will help you determine if Student Ministries is the place for you to volunteer. If you answer yes to more than four of the questions, contact Lisa Bodkin at 763-971-5106. She looks forward to connecting with you and helping you get plugged in.

Do you love God?

This is the most important criteria for a healthy volunteer. Longevity in student ministry takes constant commitment to first maintain your relationship with God and then maintain a passion for students. You need both the commitment and passion to keep from feeling discouraged when ministry is challenging.

Do you believe you were made for this ministry?

It's important to believe that God has put you where you are on purpose. Do you trust him to use you even through seasons when you're unable to see growth or change in students or yourself?

Do you see the importance in teaching and equipping students for a Gospel-centered life?

Are you ready to teach, equip, pray for and mentor students? Are you willing to believe in them and help them to REACH students, RECONCILE them with God and others, and GROW them in their faith to SERVE and WORSHIP God as a lifestyle?

Do you have the support of your own family?

Volunteering certainly comes at an expense from time to time. Being away from your family so that you're available to help others grow in their faith is a cost worthy of being counted. Knowing that your family is supporting you, particularly during the occasional sacrifices of family time, is important.

Do you love to share your faith with others?

Student Ministries volunteers not only teach students how to share their faith, but they themselves are confident in sharing it when there are opportunities to do so.

Do you like to serve?

Do you enjoy helping with activity and food set up and preparation? Volunteers are ready for last-minute changes in plans. Flexibility is a key in student ministry volunteering!
