Our lives should be about pouring into people who will pour into others for God’s glory. Simply put, we invest because we are called to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28: 19-20). We invest in people because everything else on this earth passes away but building into people has eternal significance and enduring value. We are called to be builders who build with quality material with Jesus as the foundation (1 Corinthians 3:9-15). In Women’s Ministries, we are committed to having one generation commend the goodness of God to another. Older women investing in younger women is a key element of what we are growing to be about and rightly so (based on Titus 2:3-5). We are called to learn from people of all ages and backgrounds as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom. We must invest our gifts, experience and lives into others. “One generation will commend your works to another and shall declare your mighty acts.” Psalm 145: 4. Real Women: Real Love. Real Issues. Real Truth.Thursday, September 11 Who: All women who are willing to be committed to a bi-monthly gathering. Are you willing to learn, to be honest and to love others? We focus on single, dating, engaged, married, widowed and divorced women because every woman has a unique perspective that can stretch and encourage us. What: This is an intergenerational mentoring and discipleship program where small groups of women with two mentors per group dive into Titus 2, discuss relevant questions about what it looks like to honor God with our lives and in our relationships. Why: Let's be real! We need to love and be loved. We need a place where we can ask hard questions and get true answers. We need to learn from women who have walked the journey of life and faith longer than we have. We need to look past ourselves and learn to love women who deal with similar and different issues than we do. We need people to have their eyes on our lives as we do community together. When & Where: We meet the second and fourth Thursdays of the month beginning in September at 7.00 p.m. at the NHC main campus. A typical night includes 30 minutes of formal teaching, quality time in small group discussion and quality time in prayer. Women are expected to prioritize the bi-monthly meetings and try to be involved in at least one outside gathering per month with the group. There may be supplementary reading. If you are interested in administration, co-mentoring a discipleship small group or being part of a small group with godly women guiding and giving wisdom, contact Andrea Tyson.
